From the perspectives of communicators, practitioners and beneficiaries, we started a dialogue with representatives from academia on the basis of facilities connectivity, policy communication, unimpeded trade, financial connectivity, and people-to-people connectivity, combined with their respective fields of economy, trade, culture, technology, and so on how can overseas Chinese in the countries along the Belt and Road continue to promote in-depth cooperation in various fields in various countries, and drive more and more Chinese companies to “go global” and exchanges with overseas Chinese-funded enterprises in the “Belt and Road”.
The countries along the “Belt and Road” are the gathering areas of overseas Chinese. There are more than 40 million overseas Chinese. It is also an area with strong Chinese businessmen. It is a bridge and tie connecting China and the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.
Dr. Wang Huiyao, chairman of the Globalization Think Tank (CCG) and deputy director of the Special Expert Committee of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, pointed out in an interview, “We have been Chinese and overseas Chinese bringing the world to China in the past 40 years, and the next 40 years will be the 40 years of reform and opening up. It means that we want to bring China to the world. Chinese and overseas Chinese are the bridge and link between China and overseas, as well as the catalyst.”
